Selection Process

Stage 1: Written Examination Pattern

Shortlisted candidates will receive an admit card indicating test date, time, and venue. The exam takes place at the specific Air Force Station where the application was submitted.

To pass, candidates must score at least 5 marks in each subject individually and a total of at least 15 marks out of 30.

Stage 2: Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

Candidates who clear the written test proceed to PFT. Height verification (minimum 152 cm) is conducted first.

• 1.6 km Run: Complete within 7 minutes.
• 10 Push-ups: 1 minute (conducted 10 minutes after run completion).
• 10 Sit-ups: 1 minute (conducted 2 minutes after push-ups).

Stage 4: Medical Examination

Salary Structure & Seva Nidhi Package

Selected Agniveervayu Non-Combatants receive a fixed monthly remuneration with yearly increments for 4 years:

• Seva Nidhi Package: Upon completing 4 years, candidates will receive approximately ₹10.04 Lakhs (₹5.02 Lakhs contributed by candidate + ₹5.02 Lakhs contributed by Govt) plus accrued interest.
• Insurance Cover: Non-contributory life insurance cover of ₹48 Lakhs during the 4-year tenure.
• Pension/Gratuity: No entitlement to pension or gratuity benefits.

Option for Regular Cadre Enrollment

Engagement as Agniveervayu Non-Combatant is for 4 years under the Air Force Act, 1950. Up to 25% of candidates from each batch may be enrolled in the regular cadre as NC(E) based on organizational requirements, performance, and policy guidelines. Selection for regular cadre is not a legal right and lies at the sole discretion of the IAF.
