Delhi High Court SPA and PA Recruitment 2026 Overview

The High Court of Delhi has announced a recruitment drive for 150 Group ‘B’ posts of Senior Personal Assistant (SPA) and Personal Assistant (PA). Selected candidates will work directly with the Hon’ble Judges, taking dictations of court proceedings, orders, and judgments, and transcribing them accurately. Delhi High Court Vacancy Breakdown (Category-Wise)

A total of 150 posts are distributed across SPA and PA cadres. Note that the category distribution differs significantly between both designations.

Horizontal Reservation for PwBD Candidates

Horizontal reservation is provided within the advertised vacancies for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD 40% and above):

• Senior Personal Assistant (7 Seats): 3 seats for One Leg (OL), Both Legs (BL), Leprosy Cured (LC), Dwarfism (Dw), Acid Attack Victims (AAV); 2 seats for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Specific Learning Disability (SLD), Mental Illness; 2 seats for Multiple Disabilities.
• Personal Assistant (3 Seats): 2 seats for OL, BL, LC, Dw, AAV; 1 seat for ASD, SLD, Mental Illness, and Multiple Disabilities.

Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualifications & Skills

Candidates must possess the requisite degree and shorthand skills as on the closing date (05 October 2026). Final exam results must be declared on or before this cut-off date.

Age Limit and Relaxations (as on 01/01/2026)

Salary & Pay Scale Details (7th CPC)

Both positions are permanent Group ‘B’ court appointments carrying allowances admissible under the High Court rules:

• Senior Personal Assistant: 8th Level of Pay Matrix under the 7th Central Pay Commission (7th CPC).
• Personal Assistant: 7th Level of Pay Matrix under the 7th Central Pay Commission (7th CPC).

Delhi High Court SPA & PA Selection Process

The examination is conducted in English language only across four sequential stages. Candidates must clear each stage individually; no scribe or compensatory time is provided for any stage, including for PwBD applicants.

Shorthand Test Marking Scheme & Disqualification Limit

• Senior Personal Assistant: 110 w.p.m. speed | 550 words | 120 Total Marks | Maximum 27.5 mistakes permitted.
• Personal Assistant: 100 w.p.m. speed | 500 words | 110 Total Marks | Maximum 25 mistakes permitted.
• Mistake Deductions: 4 marks deducted per full mistake; 2 marks deducted per half mistake. Scoring at the mistake limit gives only 10 marks. Candidates exceeding 27.5 mistakes (SPA) or 25 mistakes (PA) are disqualified.
• Main Descriptive Passing Marks: 50% for General and 45% for Reserved Categories (including PwBD).
• Tie-Break Priority: 1) Shorthand marks, 2) Main Descriptive marks, 3) Interview marks, 4) Candidate older in age.

Application Fee & Correction Charges

The application fee must be remitted strictly via online payment modes (UPI, Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card). The fee is non-refundable and separate for each applied post.

Correction Window Notice: Candidates can modify and re-submit forms up to two times during 12–14 October 2026. However, changes to Name, Category, Date of Birth, and Mobile Number are strictly prohibited.

Critical Conditions That Can Cancel Candidature

Pay close attention to these mandatory compliance rules to avoid disqualification:

• Certificate Cut-Off Date: SC, ST, OBC, EWS, or PwBD certificates must be issued on or before 05 October 2026. Late certificates will result in the forfeiture of reservation and age concessions.
• OBC Certificate Criteria: OBC status is recognized only if the caste is notified as OBC by the Govt. of NCT of Delhi. Non-Creamy Layer certificates must be issued during FY 2026–2027.
• Working Conditions: Appointees must wear the prescribed uniform (Annexure-‘A’) and may be required to work at odd hours, on holidays, or at the residential office of the Hon’ble Judge.
