Educational Qualification & Eligibility Standards

Educational qualification cut-off date is December 31, 2026.

• Candidates must hold a Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
• Candidates possessing an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) must ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before December 31, 2026.
• Final Year Students: Candidates in the final year/semester of graduation can also apply provisionally. If selected, they must submit proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before December 31, 2026.
• Matriculate Ex-Servicemen who have obtained an Indian Army Special Certificate of Education or equivalent naval/air force certificate with at least 15 years of defense service are also eligible.

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

The selection process for SBI Clerk Vacancy 2026 involves three stages:

1. Online Preliminary Examination

1. Preliminary Examination Pattern

• Negative Marking: 1/4th mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
• Sectional Cut-off: There are no minimum qualifying marks for individual subjects or aggregate in Prelims.

2. Main Examination Pattern

• Negative Marking: 1/4th mark deducted per wrong answer.

• Preliminary marks are not added to final selection; the final merit list is drawn purely on Main exam scores.

3. Specified Local Language Test

Candidates who produce 10th or 12th standard mark sheets/certificates proving they studied the specified local language will not have to undergo the language test. Others will be tested before final appointment. Failing the local language test leads to disqualification. For Rajasthan, the local language is Hindi.

Salary & Emoluments

The pay scale for Junior Associates is as follows:

₹24,050-1,340/3-28,070-1,650/3-33,020-2,000/4-41,020-2,340/7-57,400-4,400/1-61,800-2,680/1-64,480

• Starting Basic Pay: ₹26,730 per month (includes two advance increments given to graduates).
• Total Monthly Emoluments: Approximately ₹46,000 per month in metro cities like Mumbai, inclusive of Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and other allowances.
• Probation Period: Newly appointed candidates will serve a probation period of at least 6 months and complete mandatory e-lessons.

Important Conditions & Transfer Rules

• Single Application Rule: Candidates can apply for vacancies in only one state or UT and appear for the exam only once under this drive. Multiple applications will lead to rejection of earlier forms.
• Transfer Policy: Newly joined Junior Associates will not be eligible for Inter-Circle or Inter-State transfers during the first 5 years of service.
