RRB Railway Age Calculator 2026
The RRB Railway Age Calculator calculates your exact age in years, months, and days against the official crucial cut-off date specified by the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB). Whether you are applying for RRB ALP, Technician, NTPC (Graduate & Undergraduate), Group D (Level-1), or Junior Engineer (JE), this tool helps you verify your category-wise age limit before filling out the online application form.
In Indian Railways recruitments, age is calculated strictly as of the crucial reference date mentioned in the official Centralised Employment Notice (CEN). Your age on the date of filling the application form does not decide eligibility; your age on the prescribed cut-off date does.

Crucial Rules for Railway Age Verification
- Accepted Age Proof: The Railway Recruitment Board accepts only the Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate or an equivalent recognized board certificate as proof of date of birth. Affidavits, Municipal birth certificates, or Aadhaar Cards will not be accepted if there is a discrepancy with the 10th certificate.
- Cut-Off Date Rule: If the cut-off date is 01-07-2026, a candidate born on 02-07-1996 completes exactly 30 years on 01-07-2026 and is eligible. A candidate born on 01-07-1996 turns 30 on 30-06-2026 and enters their 31st year on 01-07-2026, making them ineligible under the 30-year general cap.
- OBC Non-Creamy Layer Validity: To claim the 3-year OBC relaxation, your OBC-NCL certificate must have been issued within the financial year mandated in the CEN notification.
- EWS Quota: EWS category candidates receive income/asset reservations in vacancy distribution, but there is no upper age relaxation for EWS; the age limit matches the UR category (30 or 33 years).
