1. Educational Qualification

Upper Age Relaxation for Sportspersons:

Sports Eligibility & Order of Preference

Applicants must possess valid certificates issued by competent authorities in prescribed forms (Forms 1 to 5). Sports credentials are evaluated strictly up to the notification release date of 10 August 2026. Merit is determined as per the DoPT order of preference:

  1. First Preference: Represented India in an International Competition with clearance from the Department of Sports (Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports).
  2. Second Preference: Represented a State or Union Territory in Senior or Junior National Championships or National Games and secured a medal up to 3rd position (Senior National medal winners are preferred over Junior National medal winners).
  3. Third Preference: Represented a University in Inter-University Tournaments or Khelo India University Games and secured a position up to 3rd place in finals.
  4. Fourth Preference: Represented a State or UT in Khelo India Youth Games (above 18 years), Winter Games, or Para Games and achieved up to 3rd place.

Salary & Benefits

Selected sportspersons will receive salaries according to the 7th Central Pay Commission scales, along with standard Central Government allowances:

  • Tax Assistant & Stenographer Grade-II: Pay Matrix Level-4 (₹25,500 – ₹81,100) + DA, HRA, and Transport Allowance.
  • Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): Pay Matrix Level-1 (₹18,000 – ₹56,900) + DA, HRA, and Transport Allowance.
  • Service Benefits: 2-year probation period, government medical cover, pension coverage under applicable schemes, and special leave provisions for attending official sporting events as per DoPT guidelines.

Selection Process & Skill Tests

The recruitment does not include a written test. Selection proceeds across three progressive stages:
