Eligibility Criteria for PGIMER Nursing Officer Recruitment 2026

Educational Qualification

Candidates must fulfill the qualifications prescribed under either Route A or Route B on or before 3 October 2026:

• Route A:
  • B.Sc. (Hons.) in Nursing, regular course in B.Sc. Nursing, or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized University or Institute.
  • Registered as a Nurse or Nurse & Midwife (RN or RN & RM) with a State Nursing Council.
• Route B:
  • Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) from a recognized Board or Council.
  • Registered as a Nurse or Nurse & Midwife with a State Nursing Council.
  • One year of experience in a hospital with a minimum capacity of 50 beds, acquired strictly after obtaining the GNM diploma.

State Nursing Council registration must be valid on the closing date. For GNM candidates, pre-diploma experience will not be considered. The experience certificate must be dated on or before 3 October 2026, issued by a competent authority, indicating the exact period, duties, and pay scale. Category-Wise Age Relaxation

Important Age Rules: Reserved category applicants applying against Unreserved posts do not receive age relaxation. Central Government employee and PwBD relaxations cannot be combined; only the single higher benefit applies, and a PwBD candidate's age cannot exceed 56 years. Dependents of Ex-Servicemen are not eligible for age relaxation.

Salary and Pay Scale

The post of Nursing Officer carries Pay Level-7 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, with a pay scale of ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400 per month. The starting basic pay is ₹44,900 per month. Selection Process and Exam Pattern

In line with Central Government directions for Group B Non-Gazetted posts, there is no interview. Selection is determined entirely by merit in the Computer Based Test (CBT).

1. Computer Based Test (CBT): Online test for all registered applicants.

Conditions Leading to Rejection

• Incomplete Documents: Failure to upload valid certificates (Matric, 10+2, Nursing Degree/Diploma, Council Registration, Experience, Caste/EWS) cancels candidature automatically.
• Invalid Category Certificates: OBC-NCL and EWS certificates must be in the prescribed Central Government format and issued between 1 April 2026 and 3 October 2026.
• Multiple Submissions: Submitting duplicate applications for the same category results in rejection of all forms without fee return.
• Employer NOC: Candidates currently serving in Government or autonomous institutions must upload and produce a valid No Objection Certificate (NOC).
• Prohibited Items: Electronic devices, watches, jewelry, pens, and wallets are banned in the CBT exam hall.
