The Directorate of Medical, Health & Family Welfare Services, Rajasthan, Jaipur has officially released the admission notification for the 3-year General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) training course for the 2026-27 academic session.

The GNM course runs for 3 years, which includes a mandatory 6-month internship. Admission to this program does not require an entrance exam. Instead, seats are allotted through state-level and district-level merit lists based on your 12th-grade marks, followed by an online counseling process.

Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

Before filling out the online form, review the required educational qualifications:

• Basic Qualification: You must have passed Senior Secondary (Class 12th) from RBSE Ajmer or any recognized board.
• Stream Preference: Candidates from the Biology group (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) will get first preference in admission. If seats remain vacant in any category, students from other streams (Arts, Commerce, etc.) will be considered based on merit.
• Minimum Qualifying Marks:
  • General, OBC, MBC, and EWS categories: Minimum 40% marks in Class 12.
  • SC and ST categories: Minimum 35% marks in Class 12.

Age Limit Details

The age limit will be calculated as of 31 December 2026:

• Male Candidates: Minimum 17 years and maximum 28 years.
• Female Candidates: Minimum 17 years and maximum 34 years.
• In-service Departmental Employees: Maximum age up to 35 years.
• Permanent Female Health Workers (ANM): Maximum age up to 40 years.

1. Government Nursing Colleges:

• Male Candidates (General & OBC Creamy Layer): ₹11,550 per year
• SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), MBC, EWS, and All Female Candidates: ₹4,620 per year

2. Private Nursing Colleges:

• Annual Tuition Fee: Maximum ₹66,000 per year
• Hostel Charges (Optional): Single Bedded ₹18,000 | Double Bedded ₹14,400 | Triple Bedded ₹12,000 (Per year)

Selection Process & Seat Allocation

Admissions are conducted transparently based on your merit ranks:

• Government Seats: Allotted through a State-Level Merit List.
• Private Seats: Allotted through a District-Level Merit List.
• Gender Reservation Ratio: Seats are reserved in an 80:20 ratio (80% for females and 20% for males). Male candidates are considered for female seats only if female applicants are unavailable in a particular category.
