SSC CPO Vacancy 2026: Post-Wise and Category-Wise Distribution

The total 1,871 vacancies notified under SSC CPO 2026 are tentative and distributed across Delhi Police, Central Armed Police Forces, and CISF Fire service:

1. Sub-Inspector (Executive) in Delhi Police – Male (205 Posts)

2. Sub-Inspector (Executive) in Delhi Police – Female (112 Posts)

3. Sub-Inspector (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (1,320 Posts)

4. Sub-Inspector (Fire) in CISF – Male Only (234 Posts)

Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualifications & Nationality

Applicants must ensure they fulfill the prescribed criteria as on the crucial cut-off date of 30 September 2026:

1. Educational Qualifications

• For Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police & CAPFs: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or equivalent. Explore additional graduate jobs for similar qualifications.
• Driving License Requirement (Delhi Police SI - Male Only): Male candidates applying for Delhi Police SI must possess a valid driving license for LMV (Motorcycle and Car) on the date fixed for Physical Endurance and Measurement Tests (PE&MT). Candidates without a valid LMV license will only be considered for Sub-Inspector posts in CAPFs.
• For Sub-Inspector (Fire) in CISF (Male Only):
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) from a recognized University; OR
  • Matriculation (10th pass) with a 3-year Diploma in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Automobile, Chemical, Mining, Aeronautical, or Telecommunication Engineering. 2. Nationality / Citizenship

A candidate must be a Citizen of India, a Subject of Nepal, or a Subject of Bhutan. Candidates from Nepal and Bhutan must produce a valid certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

Age Limit and Relaxations (as on 01/08/2026)

• For Delhi Police & CAPFs SI: 20 to 25 years (Born not earlier than 02/08/2001 and not later than 01/08/2006).
• For CISF SI (Fire): 18 to 30 years (Born not earlier than 02/08/1996 and not later than 01/08/2008).

SSC CPO Selection Process 2026

The recruitment is conducted across five structured stages:

1. Paper-I: Computer-Based Objective Test (100 Questions, 100 Marks).
2. PST & PET: Physical Standard Test & Physical Endurance Test (Qualifying nature).
3. Paper-II: Computer-Based Objective Test (160 Questions, 320 Marks).
4. Medical Examination: Detailed Medical Examination (DME) / Review Medical Examination (RME).
5. Document Verification: Conducted for candidates qualifying all testing stages.

Final merit ranking is determined based on aggregate marks obtained in Paper-II plus applicable NCC Bonus Marks, aligned with candidate post/force preferences.

Paper-I Exam Pattern (CBT)

Paper-I Rules: Each section has a 15-minute sectional timer. A negative marking of 0.25 marks is deducted for each incorrect answer.

Paper-II Exam Pattern (CBT)

Paper-II Rules: A 20-minute sectional timer applies to Parts I, II, and III, with 1 hour allocated to English Comprehension. A negative marking of 0.50 marks applies to each incorrect answer in Paper-II. The questions in Parts I, II, and III are bilingual (English & Hindi), while Paper-II carries a higher difficulty level than Paper-I.

Minimum Qualifying Marks & NCC Bonus Marks

• Minimum Cut-Off (without NCC bonus): UR – 30% | OBC/EWS – 25% | All other categories – 20%.
• NCC ‘C’ Certificate: 5% of maximum marks added in each paper.
• NCC ‘B’ Certificate: 3% of maximum marks added in each paper.
• NCC ‘A’ Certificate: 2% of maximum marks added in each paper.

Physical Standards & Endurance Tests (PST & PET)

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Standards

Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted from PET events but must fulfill the written, physical measurement, and medical requirements.

Physical Measurement Standards (PST)

Medical Standards: Minimum visual acuity without glasses must be 6/6 in the better eye and 6/9 in the worse eye for distant vision; near vision must be N6 (better) and N9 (worse). Candidates must be free from Knock Knee, Flat Foot, Varicose Vein, or Squint in eyes, and possess high color vision.

3. Log in using your generated Registration Number and Password.
