Eligibility Criteria for ISRO Assistant Recruitment 2026

1. Educational Qualification

• For Assistant & Upper Division Clerk (Post Nos. 1, 3, and 5):
  • Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks OR a minimum CGPA of 6.32 on a 10-point scale.
  • The degree course must have been completed within the standard duration prescribed by the University.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers is mandatory.
• For Junior Personal Assistant & Stenographer (Post Nos. 2, 4, and 6):
  • Graduation with a minimum of 60% marks / 6.32 CGPA OR a Diploma in Commercial / Secretarial Practice with a minimum of 60% marks / 6.32 CGPA from a recognized board/university.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Steno-Typist or Stenographer.
  • Minimum speed of 60 words per minute (wpm) in English Stenography.
  • Proficiency in operating computers.
  • Note: For candidates holding a DCP or DCCP diploma, the apprenticeship training certificate issued by BOAT will be treated as equivalent to 1 year of steno experience.

Application Fee & Refund Policy

The actual application fee is ₹100 for all posts. However, an initial processing fee of ₹500 per post group (or ₹1,000 for both groups) must be paid during online submission via the Bharatkosh e-payment gateway using internet banking, UPI, or domestic debit cards:

Selection Process & Examination Pattern

The selection process for ISRO Assistant Recruitment 2026 comprises three distinct stages:

1. Computer Based Written Test (CBT) across 38 cities across India (including Jaipur and Jodhpur in Rajasthan).
2. Skill Test (Computer Literacy Test / Stenography Test) — Qualifying in nature.
3. Document Verification.

Based on the CBT performance, candidates will be shortlisted for the skill test in a 1:5 ratio (with a minimum of 10 candidates shortlisted per vacancy). The final merit list will be prepared solely on the basis of marks secured in the CBT.

1. Exam Pattern: Assistant & UDC Posts

CBT Structure & Passing Criteria:

• Duration: 150 minutes (2 Hours 30 Minutes).
• Marking Scheme: 1 mark for each correct answer; 0.25 mark deducted for each wrong answer.
• Sectional Qualifying Benchmark: Minimum 50% marks in each part for UR category; minimum 40% marks in each part for reserved categories against reserved vacancies.

2. Exam Pattern: JPA & Stenographer Posts

3. Skill Test Standards

• Computer Literacy Test (For Assistant & UDC): Covers MS Word (35 Marks), MS Excel (35 Marks), and MS PowerPoint (30 Marks) for a total of 100 marks over 75 minutes. Qualifying marks are 60% for UR candidates and 50% for reserved categories.
• Stenography Test (For JPA & Stenographer): 5-minute English dictation of 300 words at 60 wpm, followed by 30 minutes for computer transcription. Maximum allowable errors are 10% for UR and 12% for reserved categories.

Salary & Pay Scale

Appointees under the ISRO Assistant Recruitment 2026 will be placed in Pay Matrix Level-4 with a minimum basic pay of ₹25,500 per month.
